Luchita Hurtado passed away just months before her 100th birthday and my recent article for Daily Art Magazine is the most recent contribution to the chorus of praise for this phenomenal artist and woman. I will admit that prior to writing this article, I had not known about Luchita’s art or her life story. It was not long before I fell in love with this artist’s oeuvre and life story spanning a century. I felt a strong connection to this artist who was fortunate to have lived such a long and meaningful life, especially in this current phase of my own reawakening.
