It took a pandemic, but I finally made my way to Dia Beacon, New York, about a ninety minute drive from Queens. I had been meaning to do so since it opened in 2003 but it was not until this past August that I was finally motivated to reserved a timed-ticket for entry into this museum. I could not wait to be back inside an art space after months of looking at art online or scattered around the outdoor spaces of NYC. Even though my appreciation for the preponderance of public art around New York City while all of the museums, galleries and other art spaces remained closed, had grown by leaps and bounds, I entered Dia feeling starved and left fulfilled.
